Fashion Internship Experience

“There is nothing to writing. All you do is sit down at a typewriter and bleed.” Ernest Hemingway

In the last month I’ve been doing a lot more writing than ever before. This is something I’ve wanted for a little while now and thanks to the internship I get to sharpen my writing on a daily basis. I remember struggling as I drafted my first piece because I had to, almost immediately, separate myself from writing in my own voice. Instead, I had to write in line with the magazine’s brand and think about the reader I was writing for. When I blog here I write in the voice of how I’d speak, my words are not swayed by my audience and thankfully I’ve drawn a crowd that relates to me.
I’ve never considered myself a writer, and don’t know if I ever will, but for now I’m learning and I’m thankful for editors who I believe realize this and are patient with me.

I’ve chosen 5 pieces I’ve written so far for you to look at.
