12 May events halifax: open city

I had an amazing weekend! It was I Love Local HFX’s Open City in Halifax, a chance for businesses to offer special deals, events and back door take out so that the people can get to try out so many different things at great prices all while strengthening our community! I tried a lot of new things and once again am so proud of the diverse offerings that Halifax boasts!
Here’s a list of what I got up to this weekend!

1. Cheddar Buttermilk Biscuit Pulled Pork w Chorizo Bourbon BBQ Sauce and Coleslaw at Chives Bistro
2. Hula Hooping at Hali Kids (I totally suck at hula hooping!)
3. Gelato at Humani-T Cafe
4. Pop-Up Yurt in Victoria Park of a Fair Trade Bazaar
5. Lawry’s charcoal grilled homemade Italian sausage on focaccia bun with radicchio relish at La Frasca Cibi & Vini (The relish was amazing!)
6. Biscuit General Store to see some of my favourite people!
7. Downtown Halifax Parade Square Concert Series for some live music
8. Art Gallery of Nova Scotia to see the Maud Lewis exhibit and the store
9. A quick stop at Starbucks for the last day of Happy Hour Frappucinos
10. Parade Square for a rally for the girls abducted in Nigeria.
