01 Jan happy new year, what i wore last night!
It seems like it was just yesterday when I, in a room filled with friends, counted down to the start of 2013. Once again I’m filled with that familiar anticipation of a clean slate as I promise myself to do, say and be better. More accurately, this is an everyday promise regardless of the newness of the year. BUT, I can’t deny how counting down from ten seems to nullify all the negative in the last remaining seconds and all that tabula rasa freshness flows through with clinking glasses, kisses, distant fireworks and a cohesive energy of celebration. Ringing in 2014 in the girliest of looks seemed fitting for such a day. The tutu represents youth, twirls and a big middle finger to whatever negative thoughts that kept me, a plus sized girl, from wearing the f**k out of it! I feel pretty and that’s that.
Happy New Year and thanks for making me a part of your first day of the new year!
