A STYLE GUIDE ON HOW TO LIVE IN LEVI’S

For those who didn’t hear me shouting from the mountain top, aka Instagram, I am basking in the glory of my first solo partnership! To collaborate with Levi’s, an awesome and timeless brand, has been such a pleasure and an honor!

One of Levi’s mantras is that all denim lovers should #LiveInLevis. With such quality and thought that goes into each piece, who can argue with that? Yes, Levi’s in itself is a cultural symbol; but a symbol that’s flexible and versatile enough to fuse with other cultures. As an African, I love the prints and designs that come from the continent, and I’m adamant about my identity being emphasized aesthetically in how I dress. #LiveInLevis doesn’t mean being confined to a single look within a single culture, but an opportunity and invitation to live your truth, your reality, and your authentic self, while rocking well-made clothing. My outfit brings these two worlds together to represent my take on living in Levi’s and living in authenticity.

I’m wearing the 512 jeans which have a slim and tapered fit. I wore a batakari – think of this Ghaniain smock as the nation’s version of the tunic – and topped it with the ultra iconic trucker denim jacket which Levi’s just celebrated its 50th anniversary! The sherpa insulation makes this timeless piece winter ready! For a pop of colour, I added a red lapel flower and finished the look with burgundy boots and a scarf.

Check out the full look below and an awesome 4 min video we created of everything from my fitting to Levi’s Grand Opening at Halifax Shopping Centre where there was amazing food, music and art!

If you #LiveInLevis, hope you’re showing the world the different and dope ways to do it!

Much love,

Tendai
