After successfully maintaining a style blog, Curvy Geekery since 2010, Mo knew that she needed to take a bigger step towards a platform that encapsulated more of who she is. Looking towards her last name, Handahu, which means lion hunter, the tempo for re-branding was set and this site launched in 2013. Everything that followed has been organic, true to Mo’s nature and best of all enlightening.
The Lion Hunter brand has evolved from a singular narrative to a sibling duo of Mo and Ten primarily giving a his and hers take on style. The brother/sister combo’s chemistry is infectious, natural and all kinds of cool. Both live by the essence of their last name, hunting for the majestic in themselves and in everything they come across.
On top of curating this blog, Mo is a Digital Influencer for AIRMILES Canada, a Content Contributor for Huffington Post Canada Style and The W Dish, a Style Ambassador for Le Château and is on the Style Panel for FASHION Magazine, Canada’s No 1 fashion and beauty magazine. In addition to creating unique content and lending her style expertise, Mo also helps many brands that she’s affiliated with to achieve their digital goals. And one can’t forget the ETSY store where you’ll find skirts for ALL bodies and clutches and duffle bags in some cool prints, all handmade by Mo!
While experimenting with ultra-cool menswear comes naturally to Ten, he is a Coordinator for a grassroots initiative which mentors and tutors African Canadian youth. His passion for community involvement is fueled by him being an avid scholar of African history and political science. He teaches the youth by empowering them and filling the gaps in education and socialization that the formal education system cannot offer. For Ten, style and fashion are intertwined with history and politics as the prints we rock and unique pairings are physical manifestations of our identity.
On lion-hunter.com you’ll find a positive and welcoming space, unapologetic style and cool lifestyle stories sharing the majestic.
